Definition
A UX Research method based on observing real users attempting to complete tasks with a prototype or product. It reveals real usability problems, not opinions. Traditionally moderated in a lab or remotely; today it can be unmoderated via platforms (Maze, Useberry, Lookback). Rule of thumb: 5 users detect ~85% of major problems (Nielsen).
