Definition
The branch of Semiotics that studies how a sign operates in context — how its use, reception, and effectiveness vary according to situation, audience, channel, and culture. In branding, pragmatics is the brand's capacity to adapt to different sizes, formats, channels, and contexts (advertising, POP, audio, scent, spaces) without losing coherence.
