Definition
Technique created by Edward de Bono (1985) that structures a group's thinking into six distinct modes, represented by hat colors, preventing the deliberation from getting tangled between incompatible types of thinking. The whole group "puts on" the same hat at once, ensuring parallel thinking instead of adversarial thinking.
