Definition
The degree to which a brand name can be legally registered and protected as a trademark in the markets of operation. It depends on its distinctiveness (the more generic or descriptive, the less registrable), on not colliding with prior trademarks in the relevant classes, and on the availability of the name in domains and social networks. It is criterion 8 of the Naming Selection Criteria.
