Definition
Pleasant sonority of a word: the quality of a name that is agreeable and easy to pronounce to the ear. In naming, euphony favors oral repetition —and therefore word of mouth and memorization— while cacophony (its opposite) generates rejection or is forgotten. It is the basis of naming selection criterion 7.
