Meta Quest 3
A huge leap in mixed reality and, technically, impressive. I'll be honest: I enjoy them, but they haven't earned a place in my everyday routine.
The Quest 3 is a great device: convincing full-color mixed reality, solid performance without needing a PC, and a catalog that genuinely entertains now. As a demonstration of where the technology is headed, putting them on is impressive.
My gripe isn't technical, it's about habit: however comfortable they are, it's still something you put on for a session, not to work in or have on in the background. I recommend them if VR/MR appeals to you, but with the realistic expectation of occasional rather than daily use.
PROS
- Convincing full-color mixed reality
- Good standalone performance, no PC needed
- Solid content catalog
CONS
- Occasional use: hard to fit into daily life
- It's still a device you 'put on' for a session
