Figma solved the problem of having your design scattered across a thousand local files: everything lives in the browser, versioned and accessible to anyone with the link. That alone justifies adopting it.
It's especially strong for design systems. Variables, components with properties, and theme modes let you build libraries that scale and stay consistent across products.
The price climbs fast as you add editor seats, and performance can suffer on very complex files. Even so, it's the tool I recommend by default to anyone designing product.
