Definition
The set of phases a product goes through from its conception to its retirement: ideation → development → launch → growth → maturity → decline. Each phase demands distinct investment, communication, and priority decisions. The classic model is by Raymond Vernon (1960s), adapted to digital product with additional stages (PMF, expansion, sunset).
